Wigan Athletic and Wigan Rotary's are delighted after RUN4ALIFE 5K raises 10k for Everyman!

The 5K event for men only was held at Haigh Hall Country Park on 20th September 2009 and had previously raised £40,000 for research into male cancers over the last 5 years.   Latics manager Roberto Martinez urged Latics supporters to get  behind this year's event which will be held on Sunday 26th September at Haigh Hall.  He said "It's fantastic that the club and its fans can get behind an event like this which raises money and awareness for a hugely important campaign."

"10 Saints go Marching In..."

10 Saints go marching in

Several months ago, Southampton Football Club stared down a barrel of obliteration, a whisker away from extinction and a millions miles away from a place at Wembley.  As the Saints now approach their first appearance at Wembley in 18 years, a glib remark from within a group of supporters has come back to haunt, much to the benefit of Everyman!

The group of 10 will be marching all the way, over 3 days beginning on 26th March 2010 and hope to raise £5000 for us so please support them by donating to www.justgiving.com/saintswembleywalk

Check out the article written about our Marching Saints here.

It's a game of two halves for Action Claims!

Insurance company Action Claims have raised a brilliant £3714 for Keep Your Eye On The Ball by holding a charity football tournament with their sister company Lex Vehicle Leasing.  How did they raise such an amazing amount you might ask? Well, local businesses chipped in by sponsoring each player at £50, the match ball at £100 or the actual game at £250, so that was already lots of money raised before even a ticket was sold!

Action Claim raise £3714 for KYEOTB

And the match itself?  At the final whistle the score was 3-3 so it went down to penalites and Action Claims beat Lex Vehicle Leasing 6-5 on penalties.
