If you're a football club and want to help stamp out male cancer, this is the page for you.
37,000 men are affected by prostate and testicular cancer in the UK each year, not to mention the impact on their families and friends. Football is a hugely successful way to promote a positive health message to men of all ages because of how passionate football fans are.
Together, we can ensure that your fans are aware of male cancer symptoms so that no one’s child, father or grandfather suffers needlessly due to lack of information.
Why do we need your support?
Awareness can literally save lives.
But raising awareness is only half the battle. We need to raise £2million a year to continue our vital research. Your support will help us research the causes, prevention, diagnosis and methods of cancer treatment, leaving a lasting legacy that we hope will mean people may live their lives free from the fear of cancer as a life threatening disease.
Our past successes include:
- Developed the drug carboplatin which has helped lead to a 99% cure rate for testicular cancer and is also widely used in ovarian, lung, head, neck and bladder cancers.
- Completely changed the management of prostate cancer by introducing the concept of Active Surveillance. This is now the NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) recommended management of patients with localised non-aggressive prostate cancer.
And there are many more, click here for further successes.
